Tranquilo Vacation Rentals (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. It applies to all visitors and guests who use our website at tranquilovacationrentals.com or book directly with us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information only when you provide it to us directly, including:
- Booking information: name, email address, phone number, travel dates, and number of guests
- Payment information: processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details
- Communications: messages you send us via email or WhatsApp
We do not run a newsletter, membership programme, or any other voluntary data collection beyond what is necessary to process your booking and support your stay.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Send booking confirmations and pre-arrival instructions
- Provide guest support during your stay
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our website and process bookings. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf and has its own privacy policy:
- Stripe — payment processing. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe and never passes through our servers. Stripe Privacy Policy

4. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to operate the website (for example, to remember your selected language). We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics — this does not involve any personal cookies or cross-site tracking.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not function correctly as a result.
5. Data Retention
We retain booking records for a period of 5 years in accordance with standard accounting and tax obligations under Mexican law. Communications are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to support your stay and any follow-up queries.

7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using HTTPS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe using PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
