Muy tranquilo
There is a word that keeps coming up across Mexico. You hear it in the market, on the beach, in the conversations of locals who have found something most travellers spend their whole trip searching for.
“Muy tranquilo.”
Very calm. Peaceful. Quiet. Relaxed.
I have been writing about Mexico travel for years — filtering the noise and distractions to capture the real essence of this land and her people. What I found, again and again, is that the locals who have found that essence describe it the same way. Muy tranquilo. That became the philosophy behind everything here.
I hand-picked the properties and locations in Playa del Carmen that I believe best connect you with local culture and experience — from the vibrant Sunday bazaars and local markets, to the quieter beaches at Punta Esmeralda and Blue Flag Playa 88, to the cultural performances at Parque Fundadores. Mexico is beautiful. Her beaches are beautiful. But even more so, her people and her culture are beautiful.

They are part of the community you came here to experience, and supporting them is not an afterthought. It is the point.
